Lead Vocal/ Guitar/ Saxophones/ Flute - Mark Hudson

 

Mark grew up in NSW & cut his teeth in the Sydney R & B scene playing sax with The Hounds of Erskineville, Blind Mice & Earls of Duke. Mark moved to Adelaide in the late 80’s & immediately teamed up with 3pce rock outfit The Sharks playing saxophone shouting out some backup vocals. After parting ways with The Sharks Mark hit the Adelaide pub scene with Miss Emma & The Jo-Kings, The Tramps and filled in with several other outfits as required. The early 90’s saw Mark dabbling in Reggae with Jamaica who later morphed into Beyond Madness. The 90’s and beyond saw him in & out of several bands including Show Us Ya Hits, Salt, Rubber Biscuit, Premium Noise, Kick Start Limo & Down Under - The Covers. Mark toured with Ashes to Ashes playing many large theatre shows both locally and & interstate during the 2020’s.

Over the many years performing with various bands around Adelaide Mark developed his vocal skills which saw him audition with Whiskey Chaser, the rest is history. Mark also fronts acoustic Trio ResN8 & is in the process of forming a Reggae Band.

Lead Guitar/Backing vocals - Gerald Traeder

 

Gerald has been playing guitar since age 7. After completing several exams Gerald started teaching himself by listening to bands such as Creedence, Bowie & Thin Lizzy. Gerald then joined “Capricorn Band” & performed at many venues around Adelaide for the next 40 odd years. In the late 70’s he also performed around Adelaide with “Snatch”. Gerald then took break from performing over the next few years due to study & career commitments. Joined “Vinyl Groove 3 years back which eventually morphed into the current line up of “Whiskey Chaser”

Bass Guitar/ Backing/ Lead  vocals - Geoff Miller

 

Geoff commenced performing on the Adelaide scene in 1980 with the band Clean Cut. He then moved to Sydney & performed with various blues bands around Kings Cross before teaming up with the Layabouts performing regularly at the Cat & Fiddle Hotel & Beattie St. Restaurant. Mid 80’s Geoff joined the Tim Shaw scoring a residency at the Governor’s  Pleasure Hotel in The Rocks and was fortunate enough to be invited to perform on the Midday Show with Ray Martin on 3 occasions. Geoff moved to Cairns in the late 80’s and performed with various rock bands. Geoff then joined latin jazz outfit Hoo Haa gaining residencies in Cairns & Port Douglas thence moving to South Korea for a couple of years with Hoo Haa. Finally Geoff ended up back in Adelaide in the early 2000’s and performed with the Adelaide Jazz Trio until 2015. Geoff currently performs with various bands around Adelaide including Gumbo Ya Ya, Free Beer Band, Blue Mandarin & Adelaide Jazz Quintet. Fortunately for Whiskey Chaser Geoff has become the final piece of the puzzle to complete our line up.

Keyboards/ Backing Vocals/ Harmonica - Simon Watts

 

Simon commenced his musical journey at the age of 8 with classical tutelage on the cello before learning hammond organ at 10. Over the next decade he performed regularly with various orchestra's, quartet's and ensemble's building a strong and versatile musical foundation. Drawing on his classical background, Simon taught himself bass guitar. After a lengthy hiatus from the music scene he returned to live music playing key's and harmonica with Fungus Rock before joining Kev and Gerald as a foundation member of Vinyl Groove which evolved into Whiskey Chaser with the addition of a new bass player and frontman/woodwind/rhythm guitarist bringing a new layer of sound and energy to the set list. Simon also plays bass with original five piece outfit Dusk to Dawn. 

Drums/ Backing Vocals - Kev Black

 

Kev grew up in a small country town & commenced playing drums at age 7. He was self taught until age 15 when he moved to the big smoke (Adelaide). He then decided to have some drum lessons at John Reynolds Drum City and joined “Capricorn” where he teamed up with Gerald and performed around Adelaide for the next 40 odd years. Kev also performed with Adelaide Bands such as Straight Edge, The Hedgehogs, Sleepin’ Gypsies & Captain Black. He then teamed up with Gerald again in Vinyl Groove which has now become Whiskey Chaser. Kev also performs with original outfit Double Vision and plays percussion with Acoustic Rock trio ResN8.
